The Hong Kong – Zhuhai – Macao Bridge will be the longest bridge-cum-tunnel sea-crossing in China. With the new bridge in operation, the journey time between Hong Kong and the Western Pearl River Delta (PRD) can be shortened to within three hours. It will significantly reduce the cost and time for passenger and goods flow between Hong Kong and the Western PRD. To offer the best solution in terms of environmental impacts and economic benefits, the Highways Department has carefully chosen the location and alignment of the Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities and the related link roads.
